… and, especially, this nice song from léo ferré
(here interpreted by juliette Gréco)

And, maybe the most famous, about 'Paname"…
… from the great
Edith Piaf
(who, unfortunately, had caught a cold )

sure !…
but, when loocking for songs including old fashioned words… there is a risk to get singers "out of date"
…
(having caught a cold)

In my teens I loved Edith Piaf but never ever saw her perform -- just some badly printed photos of her in badly printed newspapers -- that's the what it was like to live behind the Iron Curtain and with low tech. Padam Padam is embedded in my memory forever because in Czech it means "I'm falling, falling, falling" and that's what the song expressed to me. After seeing this clip I am almost glad I never saw her in those days. What a shock; what a small shock!

I'm not qualified to answer you about this tvpa naming (and marketing) aspect,
only one of the lorrainers team can do it I think,
but from memory, every update from v8.0 to v8.5 was free, idem with the v9 line,
between summer 2008 and summer 2009, 6 or 7 public updates came out for free,
then we jump right-ahead up to v9.5 (with charge), so we have got about one year of tvp developpement for free !
not sure even if a v10.2 will come one day, but I imagine the next "charged" version should be a v10.5
nb : don't get me wrong folks, it's just a personal (deductive) reasoning, not an official announce of course !
(I'm not a lorrainer, but an expatriated southerner, with his teeth chattering from the cold here in Paname).
Well, time for official answers
Zig is right :
* every update from v8.0 to v8.5 was free. (8.0 : no instances - 8.5 : instances)
* every update from v9.0 to v9.5 was free. (9.0 : no clips - 9.5 : clips)
* every update from v10.0 to v10.x should be be free. (10.5 : you will see, it will be a surprise)
At the moment, there is no big change in the software, so it is 10.
0.2
When we will make big changes, it will be 10.
5 or something close.
When you purchase, or upgrade a TVPaint, it's for several years, and you use to have many free improvements between two majors versions.
v8 : beginning 2006
v8.5 : beginning 2007
v9 : mid 2008
v9.5 : sept 2009
v10 : end 2011
