So sorry, Henk, as you know it should be on P. Didn't I say P?

ok, it sounds like a bug on the 64 bit Mac version.kariP wrote:Ok, now I got it. Was confused with the hitting NEW, haven't created a new configuration before.

Hello Paul.
I figured out that it had to be P.
If you work with the profile edittor and change it during the day to control the feel of the pressure, what are your wacom settings on. Do you also have them adjusted to a x amount of pressure? As I fiddle around with it can't notice a big difference with settings I work normaly with.
Henk.

Yes, I play with the Wacom settings too, but not as much because the increments are in big jumps. What's interesting is that both the pen's S curve and Wacom settings are different between TVPaint 32 and 64. Below is a zip file with some of my profiles. Try them out and also see how some of them are constructed in a wierd way, but are very effective.

Hello Paul.
I had some trouble with the login yesterday. I will try and work with your settings. I'll keep you posted.
Thanks Henk.

I like to use the eraser tip on my Wacom pen. It's not to show of my pen flip skills and maybe it's a nineteenth century habit but it' s how I like it.
I use it with a lot of software. And it's there, no?

I agree, it's there and probably because you are not alone with such feelings; I was just trying to show you the light.

Re: Assigning the eraser tool and pen to wacom pen and erase
... as you say; anything goes. But seriously, drawing digitally strengthened my drawing abilities and enormously boosted my production speed because of this new way of drawing/erasing in small increments (at times; not always of course). It feels as if I'm modeling (as in clay modeling) rather than drawing in the classical fashion. I draw fewer roughes though, actually hardly any at times, and my cleanup drawing is done in the process of final drawing -- nothing needs to be done in between anymore.
Of course, for people who draw with their wrists, rather than fingers, this might sound impractical, but again, it then means to adopt a preference for the finger technique. We all draw differently and some of us hold a pencil in the most grotesque ways too (anything goes) so all I'm suggesting is that change is what tablet drawing is all about anyway so why not give anything goes a try?.

Re: Assigning the eraser tool and pen to wacom pen and erase
Hello Paul
I used your setting for the profile edittor. In combination with my wacom settings I need to press quite ferm. I'm not used to it. My wacom settings are ferm already. But it's a very convenient way to adjust the settings if neseccary. When needed I had my wacom panel open to adjust the pressure of my pen.
Henk.

Re: Assigning the eraser tool and pen to wacom pen and erase
This is indeed strange that you have to press hard no matter what the settings, if you mean that you have set Wacom to the far left "Soft" in combination with my edit curve "Soft". Something else has to be at play here, but I can't think what it might be.

Re: Assigning the eraser tool and pen to wacom pen and erase
Sorry to defile this old thread, but I thought it might be a better idea to open the 638546 thread about erasing.
I still didn't get it. I want to use one of the sideswitches to toggle on erasing mode, while I press it. I tried to set one of them to erase in the wacom driver, but then I only get the small brush, I'm drawing with, just with ERASE mode instead of COLOR. Is it possible to assign, lets say, the eraser from the sketchpanel to the sideswitch?

And you thought properlyschwarzgrau wrote:but I thought it might be a better idea to open the 638546 thread about erasing.
Yup !schwarzgrau wrote:s it possible to assign, lets say, the eraser from the sketchpanel to the sideswitch?
1) Go to Edit > Preference > Keyboard Configuration (in TVPaint) and, in the list on the right, look for "Sketch panel > Eraser" (or any other eraser of your choice)
2) Assign this eraser to a key on the left (click on the key, click on the eraser > assign). Example : K
3) open your Wacom preferences and assign the eraser side to the key you assign for the eraser in TVPaint. Example : K
So, each time you will reverse your stylus, you will call that eraser.
You can also configure the both sides by changing the Wacom Preferences about the eraser : ask to make it react as a normal click, not an eraser.
Then, go back to TVPaint : On the lead side, configure your drawing tool.
Reverse your stylus and with the eraser side, configure another tool (eraser or drawing tool).
Now, each time you will reverse your stylus, the both sides of the stylus will remember their function.

Re: Assigning the eraser tool and pen to wacom pen and erase
Thank you for your quick reply Elodie.
Unfortunately none of the methods work for me.
Version 1.
Version 2.
If I choose CLICK for the back of the stylus in the wacom driver and assign the eraser to it in TVPaint it works like it should, but only till I restart TVPaint, then everything went back to "normal"
Would be great if there would be something like a command to erase just as long as I press the sidebutton.

- In TVPaint I assigned CMD + E to the Eraser
- Then I set the backtip of the Stylus to Keypress and entered CMD + E.
