Hi all.
Of course they are not my issues with TVP10.5. My remarks wouldn't have been in the previous post if somebody else didn't have also issues.
I'm glad enough that after updating to the latest version the crashes didn't showed up.
But, I tried to record the behaviour but it doesn't work. Sinse there is no manual I can't get it to work. What do I do to record?

Henk.

Two free and one cheap screen record/capture utilities:

1.Jing (free) easy to use - includes live sound recording but limited to 5 minutes (from TechSmith) post resulting video.
2. Snagit ($50.00 u.s. and free trial ) more versatile, easy to use (also from TechSmith).
3.Screencast-O-Matic (free and subscription) have not used this.

do a google search on screencasting or screen recorders for other packages...

Thanks Sven, but there seems to be a record tool inside TVP at yhe moment. It seems straid forwards but I can't get it to record the whole sequense.
I know the tools in your reply but as long as it is in the house why not try to use it. I was just reading the manual that comes with TVP but I still didnt found it.

Hi all.
Update to the situation. I don't know what made the difference but the weird behaviour causing TVP to crash almost disapeared completely by " itself ". It took a year of anger and frustration and I still don't know what was the cause of these problems all this time.
Even the build in turial generator does what it suposed to do now. When this tread was started a while ago I could not get it to work and I'm sure I followed exactly the same procedure. Not that there is much choise .....
How do you get sound to it?

afaik, you'll have to record the sound (voice) externaly, then import it into the new tut. project.

I think the demo recorder is a nice extra in TVPaint , but to me it's just that : an extra. Nice to have , but not a major feature. If someone really needs to record extensive screen capture tutorials with sound there is iShowU or Camtasia and many others. For doing a quick demo capture the Demo Recorder in TVPaint works fine. I appreciate the developers adding it. If I need to add sound I'll just make an audio recording while I'm watching the playback of the captured demo . I'd use Audacity or Quicktime Pro to record the audio , then import the sound into the TVPaint demo as a .wav file . To expect the TVP developers to add sound to the Demo Recorder is ... I don't know how to say it ... but I'd really expect they are spending their time on developing more important features.

Hi ZigOtto / Nethery.

Oké. That's figures. Sound afterwards. Logical. Most of the time better anyway.
I totally agree that developers better put their afforts in fine tuning the software. Better a basic software that works than a can-do-all with a fancy interface that doesn't. If you can animate, you can do it with shit if necesserry. If you can't, no fancy expensive paper and tools will make you a better one. But... let's be honest, lots of people are fooled by it.
I knew Camtasia and the likes of course, but as long as its in TVP like a pluginn, ready to use, you might expect it to work. It seemed simple but it just didn't do what I expected it to do. And I hate things that just don't work. Now, after the software or the system mysteriously mended itself ( spooky sound effect ), it just does what I expected so the problem is solved for the moment. Let's hope it stays this way.

from the beginning the sound was not intented to be in the tutorial recorder.
indeed, we are working on some other features. :)
