don't misunderstand me, I do agree tvpa should take in account the wishes and requests from (new or not) users who are working in cross-software pipeline, and of course I'm not against productivity,
my point was just about Alphatoon's question concerning the reason why the UI and terms is so different from "windows standardization" ,
no judgement from me, no intention to justity (or disqualify) it, just to state its historic background, that's all,
and about my metaphoric ending, I must admit it was an off topic (phylosophic) disgression, probably uncalled-for here, sorry for that.

now and concretely about the UI improvement for the futur, it could be interesting to list and classify all these requests
(shortkeys, terminology, button's aspect, lay-out, popups, incoherence, redundancy, etc...)
and for the user's wishes receiving the more "I like it", I don't see any reason not to introduce them
(as far as it's technically and legally possible for the dev. team).

First of all to the developing team. All the respect to you for making this great tool, Tvpaint!!!. And I apoligize (again) my sudden outburst in frustration with my own ability to navigate TVP.

Regarding the overall feeling, navigating around TVP, then there is to many "things" for (ME) at this point to go into. And I have to say that if "I do not like the smell in this bakery then I should just find a different bakery". As we say here

I just need to adjust my head to TVP and not the other way. I just thought (because of many talks with other animators in my area), that I would address to the team that "artist" have some what difficulties understanding TVP´s setup and language terms.

I think we should just close this issues and concentrate on TVP! (Just my opinion) I hope I do not offend anybody by having this opinion. Sorry again.

You did not offend anybody here, Alfatoons.

Never be sorry to give your opinion about TVPaint.
Even if we do not agree with everybody (who can ?), we always do our best to take most requests in consideration (or, at least, to give an answer when we cannot find a solution).

So, feel free to take your time to explain or ask something

When I first opened TVPaint, I was a bit confused too with the interface, as I was also used to Adobe-like look. But after 2 days of work on a project, I was amazed by the extreme versatility, speed and ease of the program. I also realized, that it's much easier and intuitive to learn, than most other professional software.
I work on a Cintiq, and TVPaint so well adapted for Cintiq, as no other software. This might explain also some differences in the way TVPaint handles interface, but it is for our own good. I don't think there is anything better than TVPaint for paper-like workflow, and for animators used to traditional way of working.
On Cintiq I literally had no use for the keyboard (except typing text)! The Wacom tablet quick-buttons and stylus pen was totally enough for most of the work. This is something impossible in Adobe software! Combination of ALT, CTRL keys and pen clicks give you all the navigation tools you ever need - I had them preset on the Wacom buttons. It's also the same for a normal Intuos tablet.
Most tabs in TVPaint can be customized and you can also create almost any kind of command turning it into a button with a dedicated shorcut - also something not possible in lot of other software.
So in conclusion - don't let yourself panic - just take a specific task, and work on it, and you will see in no time, that you don't want any other program than TVPaint - that maybe in reply to Sewie - I think sometimes we need to do love to software, otherwise how can we get pleasure from the process?

Sewie made that remark, not Svengali, and while I'm at it, I have strong negative feelings about his notion that those of us who firmly stand by our admiration of this beautifully unique software should be called sycophants. What rubbish!
