Seriously, it is not time to do that.

i have my own special version of this cluster-f*ck.
i recently upgraded from 10.6.8 to el crapitan, but safenet/dongle company doesn't have drivers for that OS X, so-
i paid for a tech to install/downgrade to 10.10.5 yosemite.
dongle and drivers still didn't work; turns out the dongle died, so tvp folks sent a new one.
to complicate my issue, i'm still working on an otherwise-fine 15x cintiq, which is no longer made or supported by wacom, so i've had to use the old driver 6.2.0, the last one for 15x, but only supported up to OS X 10.7, so now it only partially works; the preference panel won't open anymore, so there's no way to calibrate the pen.
and now, in 10.10.5, i'm experiencing the drawing lag problem in both full screen and regular mode. the only time i don't experience the drawing lag problem is if i shrink the tvp desktop so it's nowhere near the edges of the cintiq screen; too small to work. but only in tvp 64 bit, doesn't occur in 32 bit.
which leads me to wondering if the drawing lag problem has something to do with a new way the screens are sharing info-
with 10.6.8 and previous OS X's the laptop and cintiq screens could share the desktop in such a way that a window, browser, or software desktop like tvp, could straddle 2 screens; partly in one screen and partly in the other. back then each screen displayed their own different desktop/screensaver, and the apple menu bar was only on the laptop. now with yosemite they each have the same desktop/screensaver and a similar apple menu bar, and the windows can no longer straddle the 2 screens; they pop off 1 to appear on the other. but- oddly a folder or image icon CAN straddle the 2 screens!(apple still calls this 'extended' mode, because different windows and files on different screens still work together, just with limits on straddling the 2 screens. this is not 'mirror' screen mode, which duplicates the other screen completely.) (a search online seems to imply a lot of complaints about windows not straddling multiple monitors in several recent OS X's.)
next- i don't remember if this was a OS X issue or tvp 32 bit issue, but several versions ago i could stretch the tvp desktop from my laptop all the way across to the cintiq, layers on the laptop and drawing on the cintiq, with no drawing lag. then more recently, either because of 10.6 or tvp 64 bit, i had to limit the entire tvp desktop to only be on the cintiq and the drawing lag problem no longer occurred.
hence my suspicion- does the drawing lag have something to do with how the screens now share info?
btw-
anyone finding other manufacturers/brands of cintiq-like large, interactive pen/screens? seems criminal that they can back out of supporting their product that i paid so much money for, but i guess that's just becoming more and more common with quickly-changing tech...

they pop off 1 to appear on the other. but- oddly a folder or image icon CAN straddle the 2 screens!
Preferences > Mission Control > Uncheck Displays have separated spaces
Then restart your computer.

It's happening to me as well, Mac Os X 10.10.5, Cintiq Companion Hybrid.
But just a few hours ago everything was fine, and I didn't update anything.
It just suddenly started doing that.

are you referring to the drawing lag/'latency', and if so- are you hooked up to multiple screens? or using just the 1 hybrid?

I'm referring to the topic, the 'dotted lines' problem.
Also on the same machine, the TVPaint pro demo (64 bits) hasn't go the problem, while my TVPaint standard (32 bits) has it, even after a reinstall.
I'm working on a laptop, so I'm have to be on two screens to work with the cintiq.

The loss of quality is now fixed. The change will be available in TVPaint 11.0.3 in January probably.

Not that I'm so interested in updating straight to El Capitan, but would it be possible with the 11.0.3? Does it fix the problems with El Capitan too or just the problems with Yosemite?

The problems with Yosemite are also present on El Capitan
But yeah, I think that if you want to update to El Capitan, 11.0.3 would be a good time.
