Sewie wrote:How do I apply this, Sven ? I'm a complete George script Noob...
All the tv_GetMouse command does is read where the cursor is currently positioned within the frame (X and Y coordinates) then it is up to you how you will use X and Y information in the commands that follow. In the example below I wanted to be able to stamp a cutbrush in the current frame exactly where I had positioned the cursor... and after stamping, advance to the next frame (see the short script that follows). But because of the false value of Y (it always returned at a value between 0 and 1) the cutbrush was being stamped at the top of the frame... so by multiplying Y with various values I finally realized that the proper multiplier was 65536 to correct the Y position. TVPaint, in calculating the Y value must divide it by that amount for some reason, but doesn't multiply it back again.
All the fix does is see if Y is less than .1 (meaning the bug is still in effect) and it then multiplies Y by 65536 to fix it. If in the next update of TVPaint they fix it, then the Y value will be what it should be (either zero or the actual Y value) and thus would NOT have to be multiplied by 65536 to fix it.

This bug is a total mindfuck.
Sewie, please try my setup (you once liked it). I have right click on bottom switch (default) which you can use to both erase and use in combination with Alt, so you end up with three functions in one. The top button I have dedicated to "1" which is my key command for Layer: Light Table Mode, and with that one I toggle the Light Table on and off.

When you keep the key pressed you have a glitch when the cursor comes back to the first frame (you can see for a very little time the cursor going back and some images are displayed an instant).
This is a bit annoying. But more annoying is the normal flipping feature (with "w"): If you want to flip between 3 frames you have to set your preview settings to 0.15sec, and the last frame is always displayed as a glitch. If you want to flip between 5 frames you set to 0.25sec but here again you have the last frame displayed as a glitch.
first of all, eliminating the glitches bugs should be a priority butI would like to make this proposition for a future feature :
Since the flipping light table is now a nice feature easier to use and tweak then the normal flipping feature would it be possible to flip it in 2 ways.
-Flipping with the out of pegs
-flipping without the out of pegs.
When animating we could then flip easily with the same amout of frames out-of-pegs and in-pegs for quickly checking the general movement and the inbetween details. Here we could have a functionality impossible on paper (until now paper was still easier to use for precise work).
I guess this "feature" can be simulated right now by using a shortcut for flipping the light table and using the hand-flipping-icon for flipping normally (It would be nice to have the 2 features accessible as an icon as well as a shortcut key ^^ )
In fact, it's not a bug : if you keep the "w" button pushed, it play once and stop, then if the keyboard repeat the key a second time it play again, then a third time, etc ... that's why you may have some unwanted pictures, because the option comes back to the original frame.
It was not intended to be in loop mode whe you push the button, as if you had selected several pictures before using the classical "play" button.
I also have right click on the bottom switch and it works as it did before this release. In my setup I use the upper switch to initiate a "cutbrush" action.

(I must apologize for injecting the tv_getmouse bug, but I thought the thread was meant to deal with TVPaint Update problems in general. Sorry.)
Hervé wrote:Sewie, if you assign the space key to the upper side switch, the behavior should be the same of the 9.5.11 version ( and the same as the lower side switch ).
There is a problem with the drawing smoothing when the real time value and dry are not set, in this case erasing with right click doesn't work.
I just tried it again, this is what I did:
Then I pressed spacebar so that I got this on the Wacom settings.
Pressed 'OK'.
After I fiddled around with the real time smoothing button I got the upper pen button to work, but very erratically. That is, sometimes it works and then it doesn't.
Also in the right upper corner this keeps popping up:
It often pops up and then disappears very quickly...
And I find it very strange. I hope the TVP team fixes this.

I see, It could work for me, Paul. I just need to get used to this new setup again.

It's strange, you may have an other software working at the same time or something like this ?
I did (Photoshop, Bridge and Firefox). After I closed those I still had the same thing.
Then I restarted TVP as the only application running and I still had the same thing.

I just noticed:
The popping up of the window on the right upper corner does not appear when I have the upper Wacom-Pen button set to"Right Click" again. It seems to have something to do with the 'space' key setting...

Ah okay I got it.
But even if "w" is pressed only one time the last frame is not displayed as long as the other frames, it can barely be seen.
I think having to choose the preview settings with a time frame is not very accurate or even meaningful. It would be better to have to specify the number of frames to display (3 or 5 or 50 whatever) and have each frame displayed an equal amount of time (in fact if there should be an exception it would be the last frame being displayed LONGER, not shorter, so we could see it enough).

I have tried these settings for some weeks now but assigning the bottom switch to 'erase' is just not comfortable at all to me. I gives me a sore thumb after a few hours of work.
Can the upper switch function please be restored to how it was before this update, so that we can choose our own Wacom settings ??
