Everything in this 15 minute sample is very much work in progress, including the music by Shay Lynch. There is one sequence in there which has been completed in color, otherwise the video mostly showcases our writing, scripting, animatics & pencil test work & style. Sandra and I self-produce most of our films, independent of outside funding or interference. This sample covers the first half of a 30 minute short.
We intend to sell From Eliza online through Amazon, in conjunction with our almost completed Slocum at Sea with Himself a two hour installment program in four parts, based on the true story of Cpt Joshua Slocum, the first man to circumnavigate the globe solo in a small sailboat in the late 1890’s. Eliza will be presented as a short, following Slocum and a 20 minute documentary of how we make our films.

"Slocum at Sea with Himself" will be billed as an animated graphic novel and is targeted to the sailing people of the world and to all who are acquainted with Joshua Slocum's legendary account of his solo voyage around the globe, a book in print to this day, almost 120 years after its first publication. This is a 15 minute sample clipped out of a 2 hour video, slated for release in the spring of 2015 through the services of Amazon's Installment Novels.
Sandra and I did everything video-wise, including the occasional V.O. and some of the copy writing, although most of the text was lifted directly from Slocum's book "Sailing Alone Around the World", first published in 1899. The music and sound track was composed and created by Shay Lynch. Once more, everything presented here is still work in progress.
I have already completed the animation but Sandra still has over ten minutes of painting to do. Shay also has some more music to get done, followed by the final mix. Of course, all post production will be done between Shay and us in our respective workstations. No one else has been involved with this production.
The only Software Sandra and I have used besides TVPaint is our NLE favorite, Sony Vegas. Shay Lynch works on a Mac with Final Cut Pro.

excellent work, as usual, and thanks for sharing .
the image/text/music mix is pretty well balanced,
although I would love to have some more silent moments,
I mean no music or voice, just lnherent sailing sounds,
(waves, wind in the sails, creaking ropes, ... )
oh, a big bigUP to Sandra's coloring Art from one of her bigger fans,
some of her seascapes rendering make me think of masterpeaces
from Claude Monet, ... or Turner !

I made a small leader for the Fredrikstad animation festival 2014, mostly TVP.
Great project, took almost 3 weeks to pull out this juice from a lot of ideas. It's good to have other people around you to set you straight!

Short but dynamic ! I like the moment where lines are running everywhere and then "explode"
Haring tells the tale of Diederik, a guy who makes the mistake of eating a herring right before a date. When he finds out his fishy breath destroys everything in its path, he does his best to get rid of the smell, while also trying to reach his date in time.
Haring was made with the collaboration from the Netherlands Film Fund, SNS Reaal and Pathé and was made for the 2014 UltraKort program. The film screened in front of Marvel's "Guardians of the Galaxy" in all Dutch Pathé cinemas.
