I think the following option might help you : by increasing the smooth number, you will have more control over the line for the clean.

I said "cleanup" that have other meaning, "make a clean copy progress" like
a Mr. D.T. Nethery's WIP cut on TVPaint official site.

A practice with TVPaint 9 preset ink brush (brush size is 1.5 - 2 ).

Drawing with TVP 9.5.
It was a Blowing snow last night ( but all melted by noon).
On the next time I will try with TVP 10 new tool bin, spread and blurred ...

If I found a method to reproduce Sumi (India ink) huskiness and spread by Japanese Paper on TVPaint, his cape might become more impressive.
And he is Giovanni, a protagonist of "Lineage".
