Mac OS Catalina, Mojave and High Sierra (update 08/10/2019)
Re: Mac OS Catalina, Mojave and High Sierra (update 08/10/2019)
It should be "fine" to update to Catalina now (as "fine" as it can be when updating to a newer version of macOS).
Regardless of the version of macOS, you'll still be faced with Apple's paranoïa regarding installing drivers and stuff (at least they've improved a bit since High Sierra): the dongle drivers will still blocked from starting, Wacom drivers will most likely be blocked too...
At least on Mojave you can still use the 32-bits version of TVPaint Animation, if you need to.

Ok, thanks for the response . I will let my friend know that she may update to Catalina , but if not necessary, probably best to stay on Mojave (and still be able to use 32-bits version for things like exporting with Quicktime codecs) .Thierry wrote: ↑31 Jan 2020, 15:04 It should be "fine" to update to Catalina now (as "fine" as it can be when updating to a newer version of macOS).

Yes, this is the main thing I will be doing to walk her through the installation , to help her follow through the directions posted by Jeremy at the start of this topic, to unblock the installation of the Sentinel driver.you'll still be faced with Apple's paranoïa regarding installing drivers and stuff (at least they've improved a bit since High Sierra): the dongle drivers will still blocked from starting
I have not encountered this issue . I just updated my Wacom Cintiq 21UX driver and had no issues installing it. How is Apple blocking Wacom drivers ?Wacom drivers will most likely be blocked too

It doesn't always happen, but I've stopped counting the number of times I've seen it happen when doing Teamviewer sessions with users :/

How do you resolve the issue of Mac OS blocking installation of Wacom drivers ? (I'll be using Teamviewer later today to help my friend with the installation).

The same way that you allow the Sentinel drivers: you go in the Security & Privacy tab of the System Preferences, and there should be a message saying that some software/extensions were blocked, and click on the "Allow" button next to the message

Re: Mac OS Catalina, Mojave and High Sierra (update 08/10/2019)
I was forced to buy a new Mac when my old one died. The new one runs Catalina. Now TVP 10 doesn't work any more...
So I too would like to know if there is a planned fix, and when this might happen.
Please?

Hello,
Unfortunaly, the only version of TVPaint that will works on MacOS Catalina is TVPaint 11 in 64bits.
You can install TVPaint 10 in 64 bits on Catalina but the only thing you will get is a grey window because the source code is too old to work properly on the current MacOS.
I'm sorry to say that there is no planned fix for TVPaint 10 because we don't support this version anymore. Moreover, an update could lead to more bugs and make the software unstable.
If you want to continue to use TVPaint on MacOS Catalina, you should get TVPaint 11.
You can contact our commercial team if you want more informations about upgrading your TVPaint 10 to TVPaint 11.

That's what I have, and even following your "workaround"-steps in the documentation, the Sentinel Driver doesn't work.
BTW I made a look into the HD-program folder after having deleted the old Sentinel-Folder (as recommended in the "workaround" -manual) and having done the a new fresh install-process also, - there is no new folder "Sentinal" again (?). Does this mean the installer doesn't work ?
Also no entry in the Settings/Security/General -tab. ( ?)
