So... how about a scale-able color panel, Elodie?

I don't know yet, I'm not a developer
I can only confirm the Mixer tab can be larger and wider than before.

Not exactly,Williams. TVP 10 is 32 and 64 bits. Dhomas had to make a new unlock code for our plugins for TVP 10 but these would not work anymore for 64 bits. The latter requires a complicated reprogramming, which he did not feel was worth the work involved. BTW this has nothing to do with TVP's program but 64 bits in general -- for instance no plugins work in 64 bit Vegas anymore either. So my solution is to start my projects in 32 bit, which is the phase during which we use his plugins the most, and once the projects get heavy (basically after Sandra paints them) we can switch to 64 bit and do without the plugins. I realized at this point how much plugins are just little programs that only streamline tasks that we can otherwise do manually in TVP -- they don't really bring anything new to the original TVP software. Our developers are considering making some of these functions an integrated function in future upgrades so that we will have the streamlined functionality already built into 64 bits.

OK. I did not consider the 64bit issue before asking my question.. we will have ability to install BOTH 32 and 64 bit versions? I have a 32 bit notebook and a 64bit desktop. install a version on each machine and just swap the dongle??

Yes, both versions come together but have to be installed separately. What I found interesting is, that whatever you do in 32 will remain the same if the next time you open 64. By the same token you cannot open both at the same time even with different projects -- somehow 32 and 64 are for all purposes identical programs. On the other hand, Wacom sees them as two separate programs and makes you enter all your settings twice, once for the 32 bit TVP and again for the 64. I recommend that you do both at the same time. First you open 32, enter all settings, then you close 32 and open 64 and go through the whole thing again so that whichever one you will be working with, will have its TVP logo present. Why Wacom to this day doesn't have a copy and paste of its settings is a complete mystery to me but the fact doesn't surprise me anymore when it comes to Wacom -- a truly wanting piece of software s**t.

I have the Youngmonkey Backup plugin for TVP. Do you know if that still works in 64bit ?
Perhaps I don't need it in version 10.

Unfortunately youngmonkey's backup does not work in 64 but TVP can still make up to 99 automated backups, plus has a new Historoy panel which I have been told is just like the one in PS. You can retrace and retrieve any move you've made to the time you opened your project. You can then copy a drawing or sequence, or layer from way back when, return to your current state and paste the old over the new if you wish.
But the Backup plugin was always good to backup to two other hard drives, if you wished. This too has become less important to me because I have subscribed to Carbonite fro $ 49 a year (for 3 years) and anything I save gets backed up. This means that I have TVP make just 10 automated backups, which gives the cloud (Carbonite) chance to save the first automated backup before TVP goes through the entire cycle of 10 start to start at #1 again. Since these automated backups are named by the date, hour, minute and second they were created, every single time I press save, TVP gets backed up automatically in the cloud. When I look there I can see hundreds upon hundreds of these automated backups stored and never to be lost.
This actually paid off for me on one occasion when I stupidly renamed my current project with a name of an already existing project. What then happened was that everything in that old project, which I had made weeks earlier had been replaced and gone. Of course, I didn't find this out until days later I needed to fix something in that older project and it was gone; replaced by my current one. Weeks of work, about a dozen clips within that project, were gone and I thought forever, because I had set my automated TVP backups just to 10. Then I noticed how every backup has a unique name, went to the cloud and sure enough, I easily found the original version just by it's date. In my opinion, anyone who doesn't use this (or one of the other similar services) is asking for trouble.
I was the one who had asked dhomas a few years ago to make the Backup plugin so that I could create simultaneous saves onto an I-Omega pocket hard drive to carry with me whenever I would leave the house. With services like Carbonite there is no need for this kind of security anymore.

The above post inspired me to investigate Wacom's software once more and lo-and behold, there is a NEW WACOM software UPGRADE
It's specifically for 32 and 64 bit programs and the option for pressure compatibility doesn't have to be checked anymore for TVP 10. I can tell the difference already with just trying a few strokes. I can go from a very, very thin line to a stronger one using the same TVP settings as I've always used, yet I now have much more control over the progress from extremely thin to normal. The new software version is 6.2.0.2 and was introduced on Nov. 11.

Thanks for your info on backing up, Paul.
I will look into this way of working from now on. The cloud workflow makes perfect sense. I always back up on a drive but then this drive sits next to my computer so in the case of theft or fire it's pretty useless really. The history panel in Version 10 sound great.

This is why I used to take the little external drive with me and on a couple of occasions that I had forgotten to do that, I actually turned back to the house after several miles of driving to get it. The nagging worry that exactly on this day I will return to a burned down house was too nauseating for me to take the risk. LOL; this would be good copy for a Carbonite ad!

William, Carbonite has unlimited backup amounts and even for those who travel between computers, the backups in the cloud is identical to your hard drive in organization of files and can be downloaded in a minute (or seconds even) into any computer. The first upload though was very, very slow. It took me a couple of weeks with the computer running day and night -- actually it was close to 3 weeks. Once done though, both uploads and downloads are as fast as between two drives in your own computer.

Can you set carbonite to just backup one or two selected folderS rather than everything on your hard drive? The website seemed unclear. I guess this is off topic now.
