How to Convert Animation to ProRes

Hello, what is the best file format to export to convert to ProRes? I am using TVP Standard, Mac 10.10.5 (8GB) Yosemite. I worked at 3100 x 1800 to create a simple 2 minute line drawn animation, but after trying to convert it to 1920 x 1080 in order to obtain a Pro res version, the lines became fuzzy & blurry. The editor requested the animation to be exported in Quicktime and the mode RGBA. How do I retain a perfectly sharp line quality by converting to a Pro Res? Also what is does it need to be for Uploading to Vimeo/Utube?
Thank you for your help.

hello and welcome,
There are two points :
1) the size reduction of the animation.
2) the Pro Res conversion.
- - - -
1) Which tool did you use to make the size reduction ? There are many ways to achieve it in TVPaint.
( f.i : You can try to resize with the transform tool in "smart" mode to keep something sharper then crop the animation, or you can use the size conversion when exporting)
Maybe are you allowed to post screenshots so we can have a better idea of what is wrong ?
2) Apple ProRes 4444 codes is not supported in TVPaint Animation 11 - 64 bits at this time (we use FFmpeg), TVPaint Animation 11 - 32 bits can still use the Quicktime export.
Nothing impossible in the future for the 64 bits version as it seems to be handled by FFmpeg (from what I read on the web), but we need to check deeply the technical aspects and also the legal stuff (the codec belongs to Apple).
WelI,I have received the same question a few days ago, and received this message (Thanks David) :
I thought you might be interested that I ran a test making an export with TVPaint’s FFmpeg export , lossless Apple PNG , RGBA mode for transparency and the editor said it was as good as Apple ProRes 4444.
Does it help ?

Conversion on Mac OS 10.11:
Export as RGBA from TVP 11 as MOV FFmpeg losless. Open in Quicktime, it will convert to ProRes 4444 during opening. Save as.
TVP imports the ProRes file without any trouble, including transparency.

To answer the last question: Vimeo and Youtube share some informations about their preferred codecs.
Here you can find this page on vimeo and
here on Youtube.

Hi, Thank you for your support. My TV Paint is 10.5.7 (32 bits). Is this effectively version 11? I tried exporting my animation to Quicktime, RGBA but there is no available format to convert to FFmpeg and ProRes codec.

With 10.5.7 32bit TVPaint you can export directly to ProRes (if you have the codec installed).
