Fill Tool ( Paint Bucket ) question

Working in TVP 11standard under OSX 10.11.4

I have a figure produced using a 3D program, rendered as lines then adapted using the pencil tool. Then used the fill ( paint bucket ? ) to prepare for using the stencil option later.
It gave the above result.

Is there a setting to reduce the 'halo' effect where it has not gone up to the edge of the line on the hand drawn sections ,
or is it due to the choice of drawing tool ?
thank you for your help.

Could you post a screenshot showing only the lines, without the fill?

You should experiment with the expand and smooth settings of the fill tool.

In general, material like this is notoriously hard to colour. If you could render the characters with black lines and a white fill colouring would work much better in TVP, because you could use the scan cleaner then. If, as I assome, the fill of the character is just a light gray, you may increase contrast and brightness first before you start colouring.

If I understand the procedure correctly he don't want to colorize rendered lines. He has some rendered footage and rotoscoped it in TVPaint using the pencil. Now he need to fill those pencil-drawings.

I've noticed that you are using version 11.0.1 of the software. The latest is version 11.0.3
I advise you to download it :-)

Adjust the Range and Expand options until you get a fill that works .

If you're coloring on the same layer as the line art use the paintbucket in BEHIND mode .

A better practice would be to Duplicate Structure (of the line art layer) to make a new (blank) layer underneath and use the Paintbucket set to Source "Above" for the fills.

Or use CTG layer to get accurate fills.

Thank you to all who replied.

This is a version of the line render,

The fill did not stop at the waistline of the pants.

The original file was a png with an alpha channel rendered out from Animation Master 3D program

Thank you for your help

Did you run the Scan Cleaner on the imported image ?

Here's what it looks like when I imported your image to TVPaint , ran the Scan Cleaner , then used the Paintbucket fill tool with Expand set to 2 , Source "Above" (fill layer underneath the Line Art layer) .

Thank you for your help. I shall try that shortly.
You may gather, I'm very new to all this.

I think checking the "Include lines" box in the Filling shape tool panel should help (if the tool and the box are still working and named as in version 10, that is).
