Hello TVP land

Can anyone advise me how to feather the edge of a freehand selected area - AFTER the selection not before?

Thanks

Hello

Do you have an image of the result you want to achieve ?

The only way I see is to do a selection, clear it (shape select: clear, I've got a shortcut for this), change the smooth value, and re-apply (enter).

Hi Fabrice - I don't at the moment as I'm not by my work. Basically we are scanning drawings into TVP and creating mattes - i.e. creating a solid shape of the character and filling with white. We are drawing around the character to create the matte but because the drawings are so loose, the edge of the matte needs to be very soft so its less obvious. Does this make sense?

Would it soften the edge of the fill layer enough for your purposes to simply apply a Gaussian Blur to the fill layer underneath the rough drawing ? See attached example.

Thanks for the answers. I'm away from the studio for a few days but will revisit on Thursday and try the suggestions. Thanks.
