Floating custom palette

Greetings,

I am using a custom palette that is docked left of the drawing window.
I am aware that I can move this palette onto the drawing window but when I start to draw the palette vanishes.
I would like to float this palette over the workspace and have it nearby the drawing.

Is there someway to keep the palette visible at all times over the drawing window?

Thank you in advance for taking the time to answer.
I looked through other posts but was unable to find an answer.

I am working on a MacBook Pro
TVPaint 11

Hi Elodie,

I have a QT movie on my desktop but am unsure how to attach it to this note.
I can email it to you.

You can use Wetransfer.

Ok, I've got the video : right click on the custom panel > this panel > embed in project

Embedded panels can be used only with the project they belong to.

I right clicked on the panel and embedded in project is now checked, but it still vanishes behind the current drawing window as soon as I start drawing.
:?

Actually, you should "un"embed it, so the title of the panel won"t be green.

Embedded, not embedded, green or black, the widow disappears when I start to draw.
I tried restarting the software, the computer, tried a new custom window - nothing changes.

Ok, I'll have a look to the video later. I've never seen such a behaviour before.

Your license is not up to date : could you update to 11.0.3 ?

Your layer is locked : could you unlock it ?

Could you also go to Application > find TVPaint > make a right click on it > get info > and check "open in low resolution" ? That way, you'll get rid of little "lines" that appears when you move the panel.

Do you have this trouble with any other panel or only with custom panels ?

Hi Elodie,

I have updated my program to the latest version.

It now opens in low resolution and the lines have gone. (I am assuming that when I export I can do so in high resolution without changing any application settings.)

I tried moving other palettes (tools, colours, custom palette, etc.) onto the drawing window and they act the same way. All disappear.

Well, I've never seen this before... actually, it looks like your drawing space acts like a panel, so when you click on the drawing space, it hides other panels behind. And that's weird, for I'm sure there is no options in the software that allows the drawing space to be "above" panels.

Would you agree to reset your configuration ? It will delete custom panels and shortcuts, but at least, we can make sure this weird behaviour will stop.

I'm not sure if I've done it correctly but I quit TVP.
Restarted my computer. Restarted TVP
Opened a new project with no template. No presets that I can see. (previous shortcuts did not work, no custom panels)

I put the colour panel over the drawing window and the same thing happened.

Not sure if this is what you are looking for, if not - please send details.
Thank you.

No, that's not what I'm waiting for, I just wanted to be sure you will be ok to reset the config.

To do so, quit tvpaint, click on the Finder > Go top menu. Then, press "alt" key to display the Library and delete the folder tvp animation 11 (pro). Then launch tvpaint and let me know.
