Timer?

A lot of storyboard programs like toon boom storyboard have this timing feature, i feel like making a 20 min animated series would really be easy if i were
able to have a timer

by timer i mean this (concept art)

It allows you to easily see how much time each scene takes and also helps you remove scenes which take too much time

If there were already a feature, please guide me and i'll delete this topic, if not then i'd love to see a feature like this implemented!
i'd hate to work the beloved tvpaint and work along side with the storyboard software

Thanks! :D

In the Preview settings there is a checkbox "Show TC" which will display during playback, but right now it only shows frame numbers. I agree, this should show a standard timecode as well (Min:Sec:Frames).

Click on the stopwatch on the timeline to get a time code instead of frame number.

And you can render that timecode,
so it displays over the project (like in your example image),
using fxstack>rendering>timecode generator

Many solutions exist, so I move the topic to the good section.

Also, when you Export to a .mov or .avi file there is the Slate option .

The Slate adds a black border around the content with the current frame (or timecode if you have switched to timecode mode) displayed at the upper right corner, , the name of the project and clip,the date ,and the name of the author.

Ah yes i forgot about that option!
much more practical then rendering the timecode with the fx stack
