How do I paint multiple frames with one squiggle?

I'm watching a TVP tutorial from Bloop, and it's describing how you can color a succession of frames of an object that's moving across the screen with a single squiggle. It's showing that by starting on the first frame, you can drag a squiggle across the screen, following the path that the line animation takes, and that it paints that object in all of the frames across the screen. However, when I try it, it's only painting the object in my first frame.
Anyone know how this is supposed to be done?

Select a block of frames and hit Return/Enter to apply the same CTG squiggle to all of the selected frames. You may get some overspill on certain frames that will need to be corrected after applying , but this can be time saver.

Thanks so much Slowtiger & D.T.! That did it!
That's so strange because the parts about selecting all of the frames first and then hitting enter afterward aren't in the tutorial, and yet it clearly appeared to still be working in the video.

He should have made that clear in the tutorial. It's a general rule in TVPaint that applying a Transformation (resize/reposition/rotation) or a applying a Stroke to multiple frames is done by selecting all the frames you want the transformation or stroke applied to and then hitting the Return/Enter key .
