No sound when importing a video

I use TVPaint 11 on windows 10, and whenever I import a video (via File-->Open/Import) - It's imported well to a new layer on the timeline, but without any sound. Everything regarding audio importing is checked in the import box.

Any Ideas?

Thanks in advance,

Dor.

It is a known issue . See:

It will import the audio if you bring the video in as a Clip or as a new Project. But if you need to have the video imported into an existing Project with the sound , then the only workaround I know is to open your video and export the sound separately as a .wav file , then import the video into TVPaint , then load the .wav file in to the project to reunite the sound with the video.

I see. Thanks!

I think a have an easier workaround though, until it's fixed -
When Pressing 'Load a Sound' in the sound panel and selecting the video, it imports the file's sound as if it was an audio file.
That way, there's no need to go through exporting the sound from the video.

Another question though: Is there a way to ''attach'' a sound track to an animation/video layer? Just so I can pan them along the timeline together.

Solved: Select same color group to animation and audio, and from now on they are synced.

Good idea ! I did not think to try that. Thank you.

If you hold down Control and slide the animation layer forward or backward along the timeline the sound track will travel with it.

If you tag the sound track with the same color group as the animation layer , it will only move with that color group, but won't move with other color groups.

thank you. Is it still impossible to import more than 1 sound in the standard version?

It seems like a pretty basic feature to withhold from standard uses, as I tend to use many sound effects :( mixing it all before to 1 track is insanely uncomfortable :(

Yes, in TVPaint Standard you may only import one audio track at a time. The only workaround is to put the soundtrack together in an audio editing program such as Audacity or Adobe Audition then mix down to a single track to import into TVPaint.
