Icon Design for Higher Display Resolution

Wonder if there's any TVPaint documentation or Forum discussion explaining how to create and save higher resolution icons for use in higher resolution TVPaint displays?
In my experience, when I save a higher resolution (96 x 96 pixels) icon, for use on a display monitor with Resolution scaled to two (in Preferences/Interface) I still end up with a reduced-sized icon with an effective low resolution (of 23 x 23 pixels) - note the tiny eraser icon framed with the large gray border? Maybe another user or a TVPaint programmer could explain how to substitute/swap-in new, higher res (x2) icons? Sven
