First of all thanks for the recent update - so far I have no lags!
Now the problem: When I create a new project then save it then close TVPaint and open it again, this project will not appear in the Recent Files list. It only appears there after I open it again manually.
This is wrong in terms of workflow - please fix this issue.

This could be more of an OS problem - happens on my Mac all the time, in all software.

Ouch! I didn't notice this issue in another software. Which software for example? (I've just tried Photoshop, all looks fine)

For me, it happens in PS, in TextEdit, whatever. The file I just have saved is not included in the list. But not in all software: Logic is more reliable.

I've just tried it with PS, Libre Office, TextEdit and InDesign - all works fine, all see the new file in recents, except TVPaint... I am on High Sierra - what is your OS?

This problem also exists on Windows.
A newly created and saved project does not appear in the Recents list

Just tried this, and I don't have the issue on Windows, with TVP-11.5.1
I created a new project, saved it, closed it, then closed and reponed TVPaint and the project was in the "Recent export" menu.

hmm... when I open TVPaint, there is not even such a thing "Recent Export" - I can only see "Recent Import"... (see screenshot) and the last saved file is not there.
Generally speaking I find it very confusing - I would expect a simple list of recent files under the Open menu, which is the standard in any software... for me the words "Import" or "export" don't associate with TVPP work files - in my understanding these are different concepts, and I don't think anybody would be looking for their recent TVPP file in those lists...

Same problem here.
I can't use open recent, because most of the time, the project is simply not appearing. It would be really helpful it this would get fixed.

Besides that, I don't understand why the whole path is shown in the "recent import/export" window. Is there a way to only show the file name? It's really hard to find your file if you have to read the entire path...

I never have this issue with any other software on Mac. The problem only appears when using TVPaint.

(Sorry that I repeat myself, because we already had this conversation in a different thread a couple of days ago...)

Does TVPaint have full disk access in the Security settings of the Mac? Maybe this could help.

I just gave TVP full disk access.
After that I restarted and created and saved two new projects: They were both in the "recent export". This is not where they should be right? ->I don't understand the meaning of "recent import" and "recent export" because with all other software it's just called "open recent" and there I will find the last modified project. I'm just trying understand what the reason is why TVPaint is naming and using it differently compared to all other software. Part of my confusion is probably because it never worked well on my computer.

I will do some more testing and let you know if anything else.

Maybe important information: I work and save met files on a NFS mounted server.

its should be as simple as this:
the list with recent imports shows you any file(image/mov/project) that you recently imported (=openend/loaded)
the list with recent exports list shows you any file(image/mov/project) that you exported (=saved/exported)

i find it usefull to have the distinction so that files i only loaded and did not work on or alter are not cluttering the list of files that i did work on.

"Should be" is the key phrase
unfortunately it just doesn't work - recent exports list just disappears after TVP restarts, and new files are never saved in any recent lists, unless they are open for the 2nd time...

can confirm this happens to me as well.

I import an image sequence (from work to do corrections on), then save that sequence as a tvpaint file. when i open tvpaint again, it only shows the path to the initial image sequence and not the tvp save. I've gotten to the habit of just ignoring recent imports and going straight to the Open icon for it lol ^-^'
