Strange side files generated.

Hiya guys!

I hope to find you all well and thriving. I’m posting to ask about some strange files generated when creating or working with TVP files. I dunno whether the fact that the computer had a change of hard-drive and graphics card (current one’s an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti), and was formatted last week, has anything to do with it.

Attached you’ll find a screen cap of these files: the actual TVP file on top, and below two of these other ones. I erase them every day after work —for they weight almost as the original file— and apparently nothing happens to the original.

Please find below the tech-specs from the “Read Me First” post:

• OS and its version: Windows 10 Home, version 20H2
• OS architecture + CPU type and amount of RAM: 64 bit OS, x64-based processor; Intel Core i3-2125 CPU @ 3.30GHz; 8.00GB RAM
• Software version: TVPaint 11.5
• Software edition: Standard
• Wacom Tablet model and driver version: Wacom Cintiq Pro 22HD, DTK 2200; 6.3.42-2 driver version

Hopefully somebody can help me understand and/or fix the issue (if it is and issue, after all). Also, please let me know if you need any more info to better judge what’s happening.

Thank you and congrats for such great software!

Those are back-up files of previously saved versions. If you don't want them then change Multi Backup in Preferences to 0.

See here in the User Manual: https://www.tvpaint.com/doc/tvp11/index ... ences-save

Hi D.T. Nethery,

Thank you for the fast reply! :D Cool, I didn't know about the backup option. It's a great feature, since at times I've desired to recover some previously erased layer or something, and was unable to due to having saved the file already without it, since I'm used to save very often, just in case. Anyways, I've just tried opening one of them files with TVP and it works all right. Great!

Thank you again and have a great day!

If you need to use a backup, just rename the file to *.tvpp
