MXP is some sort of Apple ProRes 422 file - TVPaint failed to open it - it crashed - I tried several times. I converted it into QuickTime and then it imported properly.
should I send the crash report somewhere?

Hi Xavier. Ouch, sorry, I have misspelled the extension - it's not MXP - it's MXF. I fixed the subject line in the thread. It's some kind of Apple Pro Res 422 file format that was exported from Premiere Pro. anyway, I have reexported the file into an MP4 file format and I could import it without a problem.

Ok, I tried with the samples from here, no crash so far : https://filesamples.com/formats/mxf

Is it one file only ? or all MXF files ?
If TVPaint recognizes the MXF format as a supported media, it should be able to import it. So if TVPaint crashes when importing a file that is supported, it's a bug.

Hi Xavier. It seems it only crashes with MXF files exported from my Adobe Premiere (v20). The files from your link don't crash. Anyway I stopped using this format anyway, so it's not a big deal...
If you want to dig in - here is attached one of my MXF files that causes the crash

Thanks, I reproduced the crash : it comes from FFmpeg.

I'm not going to dig into this, since it usually works 99,9% of the time.
But if we have other users reporting the same issue, I'll save the file just in case.
