TVPaint10, suddenly not working (Mac OS10.13.6)

Post by Aya.S »

Hello,

I'm desperately in need for some help please!
I've been working with TVP10 for a while now and suddenly today it stopped running!
It simply will not start up and I get the message "TVP Animation 10 quit unexpectedly" with the option to "Ignore", "Report..." or "Reopen".

When I select "Ignore", the software won't open and for, "Reopen" I get the same "TVP Animation 10 quit unexpectedly" message again.
I have tried deleting and reinstalling the software a few times, but ended up with the same result.

When reinstalling, I was unable to install SentinelProtectionInstaller 7.4.1 due to "A newer version of this software already exists on the disk".

I can see that I have SentinelProtectionInstaller 7.4.2 on my computer, but I don't seem to be able to uninstall this.
However, I'm mot sure if this is the reason I can't run the software all of a sudden.

Any help would be appreciated!!!
Thank you!!!

Hello, you could try resetting your TVPaint by deleting its configuration file.
It is located in Library > tvp animation 10 > default > config.ini (name of the file you have to delete).
But the system Library folder is hidden by default on MacOS, you can follow this guide to reveal it:

Thank you!!
For some odd reason, the problem just fixed itself this morning!
I simply disconnected my cintiq and it worked!
Perhaps it had something to do with the graphics card....?

Anyway, thank you for the tip and if I have a problem next time I know I can try deleting the config file!!

Handling multiple monitors has always been complex on MacOS, maybe your TVPaint 10 had choice paralysis regarding where to display itself when running, so it crashed
