Hello!
I updated 11.5.3 currently, from 11.5.1..?, I think.
and I'm having trouble with saving files.

When I'm saving files, TV paint showing the alert with 'Can't save project file' like this.

-I'm using 'Auto save' fuction.
-I've set 'Multi-Backup' to 3.
-It seems easily occuring on heavy project or the project that takes long time to save, i think.

and in the directory, there is several temp files exist.
even if I set the 'auto save' and 'muti-backup' to '3'
the order back-up file wasn't deleted and the backup file is not limited to '3',
It will even over the ten as long as the alert generated.

I'm using other sync program named 'resilio sync', but it was OK in 11.5.1.
I couldn't find the proper reason, so
I want some help to know why the 'Can't save project file' alert is generated.

Hey ini,

TVPaint usually doesn't like characters like "#", ";" in a file name, can you try to save your project without those just to see if the pop-up still appears?

Hi, do you have enough disk space ? I'd say you need at least three times the project size to save it without a risk.

Otherwise, you have a lot of tmp files and this is weird. What if you rename them to tvpp ?

Be sure to prevent any software from touching the files, while they're written to the disk. Especially if your project file is big and requires time to save.

I used them as a divider on some script, so I used them previous 2~3 years with other tvp version.

Yes! I do have enough disk space, I had ten times of.

I'm pretty sure that when the space is not enough, other alert comes out... as I remember....

I tried them,
for exmple incase of "220530_cms.tvpp.1.tmp"
when I just tried to open this file with tvp, tvp shows this alert.

and then when I changed file name
"220530_cms.tvpp.1.tmp" to "220530_cms_.tvpp"
in order to prevent overwriting old one.

The file "220530_cms_.tvpp" works normal.
I think It's saved completely, but could not be replaced with old "*.tvpp" file

oh... I just found the exactly same alert is generated when I 'intentionally' cancel the saving.
Is that alert means the saving process is canceled by some kind of other reason?

and about the '#' and ';'

It occurs even when that letter is not exist.

I think the there is no rights of access on original file so,
I'll try to run tvp as administrator.

well, It doesn't help...

If the file is big,
when usually I'm saving, tvp makes windows to move the file,
so the window(which is showing the file moving progress) like below in the image is open.

but when the alert & failure is occurs, that window is also not opening, I think.

This alert & failure on saving is occurs usually but not every time. like 10%...?
