TVP12 Cramped timeline [TVPA-3417]

I've noticed the timeline has gotten more cramped since TVP11. the biggest contributors of this is
1.The ... symbol
2.The timeline drawer lock button
3. Layer controls section is wider
I've compared between TVP11 and TVP12 trying to match panel size between both.
We've lost a considerable amount of vertical room for layers in this update, many of us have to work on 1080p panels, if we wanted more readability at high dpi scales then we'd just use the scaling options that was introduced before hand.

At first glance, it does seem like a lot of wasted space.
I think the reason for adding the extra space and the "three dots" was to provide a visual clue to users that they can click, hold , and drag the Title Bar up or down . I gather that in the previous versions of TVPaint some users found it difficult to grab on to the Title Bar to move it up or down. Seems like there could be a compromise ... perhaps not quite so much space as is currently used in TVPaint 12. (?)

I also used & prefered 21ux(4:3) than 22(16:9) for several years,
because of ploblems of animators - vertically narrow space by using the timeline.
and If the screen is FHD or the tablet size is small, It'll make works harder.

I agree that as much space as possible should be preserved in the interface to not make it unnecessarily cramped , but something I use constantly is the shortcut 0 to instantly hide the timeline or bring it back , OR the shortcut
Close/Restore Left+Right Drawers and Timeline (which I have set to the J key, but it can be set to any available key you want) . Being able to toggle these parts of the internet on and off instantly with the press of a key is very useful.

Its been tough since most professional cpu-less screen tablets remain to be 16:9, I've seen some 16:10 which is a little better but 4:3/3:2 is a perfect ratio in my opinion
I've also updated my list up top to include the layer controls section of the timeline, it looks like they gave elongated the space but the icons are pretty much the same size so it is just more empty space overall.

I agree about the tablet aspect ratio. 4:3 is better. I'm still getting mileage from my old Cintiq 21UX which is 4:3 , but I"m afraid it's not going to last much longer. (getting some dead pixels in the corners , but for now that doesn't really impact my drawing space center screen.)
Strange that no tablet manufacturers make a screen tablet with 4:3 aspect ratio, which makes sense for maximizing screen real estate, even if the majority of the projects being worked on are in 16:9 or 2.39:1 ; the aspect ratio of the tablet's screen doesn't impact the project aspect ratio, so why not have 4:3 screens available for those who prefer it ?

The cramped layout of 12 and the lack of being able to go back to tvpaint 11 is putting me off upgrading for now. Maybe if the 4k screen brush lag issue that began with 64-bit is fixed. I'm still in TVPaint 11, does anyone know if the Inlay View layout and toggle-able Menu Bar is still possible in 12? (TVP11 example below)

inlay view is still working in v12
However the menu bar, while it can be switched off...
if you drag it out it doesn't turn into a panel shape like it does in v11
but it stays it original long shape... weird. bug maybe?

I does....
And here's one more,
when the timeline is sperated from main window,
maximizing the main drawing pannel (project window...?) is limited by sperated timeline, even if there's more space.
