Keyboard input disabled after opening project (TVP12)

I don't know if this is a bug or I accidentally have some kind of setting enabled, but my keyboard works as normal on launch of TVP12. After opening a project file, all keyboard presses become disabled and I hear the "blocked input" noise. The program is still functional. If I close and reopen the program, the keyboard works again, but once more disables on the opening of a file.

Hello,
Could you tell me on which OS you are ?
MacOSX Sonoma 14.5
I found I can "re-enable" by selecting the text tool, then bigger box (type in the field because keyboard can function only here), then tap the timeline, then go back and select the bigger text box (this highlights the text), then keyboard function is restored, but will be lost again when you use the text tool once more.

Hello.
Does your TVPaint looks like this when you start it ?
I mean, is the macOS title bar (with the red, yellow and green buttons) visible ? Like on this picture:
If the title bar is not visible, please close TVPaint and then go to:
/Users/
yourname/Library/
You will find a directory named "TVPaint Animation 12", it contains the software configuration. Just rename the directory into something else.
Then restart the software and load a project.
Let us know if the problem still happen or not, please.

The title bar with green blue and red is hidden. I searched for Tv paint directory at library folder but I didn’t find it

You may be able to locate the folder by using the Startup Panel. When I click on the "Config Folder" button, it opens the folder that JeremyN wants you to rename. That's how it works on Windows and I assume it will work the same on Mac.

Alternatively, you could simply create a new configuration by clicking "New". This seems to be essentially what JeremyN is instructing you to do. When TVP starts, it will look for the "TVPaint Animation 12" folder. If it doesn't find one (Because it was renamed to something else), it will simply create one which, I think, is the same as creating a new configuration. Sometimes issues are caused be a corrupt config file.

Startup Panel can be enabled by going to Preferences-General-Startup Configuration

Thank you for this! This fixed it. What a strange issue.
