drawing between 2 colors

Hello,
I was asking myself if there is a possibility -maybe with some help of 'George', and via a button- to draw 'between' 2 colors'?
More specifically when I draw with a blue pencil, and I want to draw above the existing orange sketchlines, but behind the also existing black clean lines...
I sometimes miss that possibility...
Thanks,
Geert

Hello,
The easier solution should be to have separate layers (one for each colors, that's the the solution I use every day), in this case it allow you to keep each step separately.

Hello again,
Yes, that is indeed a solution, I also did try that, but I did not really like to change layers so often, so I was looking if there was another solution possible?
Thanks anyway

I think what you want to do can be achieved by first drawing an orange rough on the first layer,
then drawing black on the upper layer in mode "Color" and blue in mode "Behind".
The SkewtchPanel RBG that comes pre-installed in TVPaint is designed to do just that.

Hello again,
This is indeed a way to do it, but it still involves switching layers. I was hoping that, with the aid of some scripting, it would be possible to do it on 1 layer...
(to draw with blue above the orange lines, but behind the black lines)
Thanks anyway

In fact you can work on only one layer with the Sketch Panel RGB tools, but you will have only two options : if you draw with the black line above the blue line it will use the Blending Mode in "Color" so above the blue and if you use the Orange line it will draw under all the color beacause it is in Blending Mode "Behind" so behind the other existing pixels.

Hello again,
Thanks for all this, I know the use of the blending modes, and of the already existing possibilities, that's no problem.
My question was in fact to ask if somebody, could provide -via a new button, with the help of some scripting maybe- an new possibility, to draw in 1 layer above 1 color (orange) but behind another one (black).
If that is not possible, it's not a major problem, there are -as explained above- different workarounds, but it could have made work easier, that's all...

Hello,
Unfortunatelly, that's not possible to draw between 2 colors on the same layer.
