APplying Wrapping Grid triggers path-making

Something's gone wrong with my TVPaint installation, I think. As far as I can tell, if I put any more than one instance of the Wrapping Grid in the FX Stack, "ApplyFXStack" invokes a Path-making menu every time I attempt to apply the stack.
