I've found that I'm quite used to double clicking on layer names to change that layer's name. In TVPA, I have to go to the context menu (the downward triangle on the right side of the layer name) and select the name of the layer, which brings up a dialog box where I can then enter in a name.
Is there anyway a double-click on the layer's name would then select the layer's name and then the user could type in the new name.
This is just a little thing, but in my case, having to call up the dialog box is just enough to disrupt my workflow.

Change layer name
I don't want it all --
Where would I put it?

There are some other ways to rename a layer but you can not achieve it by double clicking on it:
- You can acceed to the contextual menu by RMB;
- You can set a shortcut to rename the current layer;
- You can use a custom panel to call the rename function of the current layer.
We will maybe add the double clicking action to rename a layer in the future version since this features can help the users. It a features which is simple but so much useful!!!
Thanks for proposing it.
