Here's a great blog article ripping on the cheap look of Flash animation by Pete Emslie, followed by a great page of comments (lots of industry folks in there) about 2d digital animation:

Maybe the TVPaint team could pick up some themes in the criticism and think about the direction of TVPaint's future development...

Just out of curiosity, what's the obstacle to having true vector layers in TVPaint? I like the path tool okay, but I wish I could have a layer with polygons that will always be modifiable. Is it a memory thing?

in a certain way, RotoTracking tools already allow you to vector-animate filled shapes.

Someone else pop in there and mention TVPaint . I chimed in on the conversations about Flash recently at CartoonBrew and on Pete Emslie's blog ... I'm going to start sounding like a broken record talking about TVPaint.
