anim wip LL

Edit: Here's a direct link for the streaming flv-file, which should play on any operating system and any browser, which has the actual flash-plugin installed.
It has some advantages: less data, and I think better quality as H264, far as I can see.

Edit: This link works with QuickTime with good results:

18 MB

wip of LL; two scenes, 5:36 min; 22 MB, divX; music still as dummy and not much of atmo-sounds yet. Some Inbetweens (eg: the arriving of singing sailors) are still missing.

or/as an alternative, if you have any flv-player:

synopsis in short:
An older official of a bank, ( I call him CC), starts his days with walking to the piers where he is throwing papers into the water.
He has also an eye on morning shift workers and seamen.
In the bank office he tells of a favored attractive younger competitor, Leopold Lehman, the nephew of the authoritative deputy director.
LL is highly infected with lues, curiously it gives him sexual and intellectual freedom.
(Next scene, but not finished yet:)
After office hours, CC is walking to the piers again. Now up to his hips he is standing in the water, smooth waves lift him up and put him down again.
He will not drown.

Klaus, I haven't been able to open the avi on any of my computers. Loading always freezes midway.

I enjoyed your clip very much. Of course, I am intrigued now and eager to see more, as always with your work.

I very much love the contrast between the fine background drawings and the simpler lines for the animated ones, the color only on CC and then LL too. The penguin tickled me -- and of course the chicken.

The "drunken sailor" song is just great the way you use it. Especially when showing the pencil at work. I still get a little lost with what is being said...like the character who suddenly appears in the foreground in green but I imagine it will become clear later.

You do give me as the viewer confidence you know what you are doing and where you are going with the story.

Sierra, what player did you use to open it with and which link did you use?

Paul, it's the Codec (DivX and Mpeg for Audio) that crashes. I am just working to get a reasonable QuickTime (H263) and a WMV 9 with not too much of data.
Which codecs do you recommend (also for audio-stereo) ??

Sierra, thanks a lot. Yes there are some dreamy passages , the green man is a fusion of LL and CC and born out of them (look at the lines coming out of LL and CC to create this green man) , just to show that they are in some way blood relatives. It's an embellishment, not the core of the story,- maybe therefore it's impractical (?)

I was not able to open either. Trying to open the first one froze up my computer too. I love your work and hope to see it somehow.

I downloaded it to my desktop and used WMP to see the avi. But I also used RealPlayer to see the flv, just to check.

Klaus, how big is the original file? Are you trying to export w. QT pro?
I don't know for sure if my method is best, but I usually export from mirage to QT pro with very little compression. Then use QT pro to shave it down. The size and quality kinda depend mostly on the data rate, and key frame settings. I hope your not sitting back and rolling your eyes and saying "duuuhhh!" I've messed around so much w. export settings, and have found some that are OK for live video, yet not that much with your drawing style of fine lines etc.

Klaus, H.264 is listed in Vegas as MainConcept AVC Mp4. Use that to create QT H.264 clips; it works very well.

No. It's just my weaker internet computer. It did take a long time to download. I don't get why I can get it and you are having trouble.

I'm having a backwards experience here....this one crashed after I got a lot of code.
