I thought this was a lot of fun. I didn't know about parkour...it's a sport where the athlete has to overcome obstacles.

Re: Parkour Flip Book Video
Parkour has been a while around - origin coming from France (far as I know).
I think PK is very interesting imo as an art of moving but also as how this is filmed, edited and the way the soundtrack works.
Sierra your link shows an interesting presentation of this (but I think this presentation technique is a little bit slow for PK...) - thanks for it.

The most famous in French are the Yamakasi (as far I know). They even have an eponym film. =)

I read the articles on Wikipedia. Most interesting.
When we were kids in L.A., we went over walls, fences, over garage tops and roofs, onto balconies like a bunch of climbing monkeys. We were in a city environment with no parks nearby. It was a lot of wild fun for us and I think it did develop the strength in me for later years when I became a gymnast.
Of course, if I had ever caught my children doing any such thing, I would have put an immediate stop to it as it can be dangerous. We also had lived in Hawaii for two years where we went up coconut trees with the children there. When I think of it, I shudder how high we went with no thoughts of safety at all.
It was interesting the founder was inspired by indigenous tribes in Africa who developed their strength and agility out in nature.

Hehehe, it's a little like all this "frightening mood" with computers... When I was a child, I remember my parents didn't care about the time I could spend on the computer and what I was doing on internet. But if was a mother, I think I would install "parents securities" and would limit the time that my future kids would spend on internet, because there are too many dangerous things on the webSierra Rose wrote:Of course, if I had ever caught my children doing any such thing, I would have put an immediate stop to it as it can be dangerous. I agree with you. It's so easy to stumble onto a site that is not child friendly, and also predators hoping to connect with unattended children.
For years, my husband and I ran Whiz Kidz, a computer learning center for children. I was constantly amazed at how sophisticated even young children became in their computer skills. We had six year olds typing 10 wpm after only a few weeks. Some of them were teaching me stuff I hadn't noticed. I wouldn't want them to have free rein either.
