Big TVP problem

Hello I have had difficulties with my TVP. I thought it had to do with poor instalment, so I uninstalled TVP and installed the program again. Now all my brushes work, but the I cannot properly view my pencil tests or any of my animations, as they jitter variously from frame to frame when I initiate preview?!

I have a Mac, OS X version 10.6, TVP animation 9.5 standard edition, and at the moment I don't have any FX stacked on my pencil tests or any of my animations, I also have tried to shut off Force Proxy Render with no luck.

what is your project's size (WxH) ?
have you tried to set the playback quality lower ? or to zoom-out the preview (50%) and playback again to see if any change ?
also, have you tried to check the "Play All" option in the preview settings panel ?

I set the play back quality to 50% and did check the play all, the jittering stopped....thank you very much
now my frame rate is at a crawling speed?! the project frame rate is set at the standard 24 frames per sec, but it moves at if it were at 10 or less, even when i set the frame rate to 30 in the remote control panel it's still looks as if it were at frame rate of 10. The projects size 3664 x 2748 which I know is big, but it ran fine when I first installed the program- tvp. I know how my pencil test should look at 24 frames/sec and it should not be that slow?!

that's the reason, 3664 x 2748 is pretty big, and at this time, no hardware can play a video at this size at 24, 25 or 30 fr/s in realtime.

as I suggested in my previous message, play it windowed at a lower res., in your case at 1/4 f.i., (preview at 25%) in "Render" mode,
alternatively, you can set a camera centered and sized at 916x687, zoom-out the cam to fit the whole project, and "Render Camera in a New Project",
then play this camera-project to check "real-time" your linetest.

I was curious about this myself so I modified the project I happened to be working on to match framator's size. My project has 10 layers and is set to 29.970 fps. The clip is 10 seconds long and it played flawlessly. It even played at 50 fps flawlessly and I should mention that the clip has a sound track, which then played with a sped up sound. But my computer is custom made for this kind of performance... I have no doubt that Zigotto is right in his estimation that the size of framator's "Big TVP problem" is the culprit. BTW, "Big TV problem" is a bit of an arrogant statement, coming from someone who just bought this software.
framator, you did not answer Zigotto's question of which version you have; TVP 9.5. ?? if you are at TVP 9.5.6 or lower you should upgrade to the current 9.5.15 version -- many bugs have been fixed and the upgrade is free. Which version are you on?

please I meant no arrogant or pretentious writing, Paul I did not mean such a bold subject title I just thought if someone saw my title they would quickly help me, i meant no offence to anyone in the tvp community. I am sorry i didn't know their were specific versions other that standard, educational, and professional. I have version 9.5.11 and have an educational licence
my project has been modified to your suggestions low resolution preview 21%, project size is 916 x 687 and still the frame rate won't speed up from what i guess is 10 frames/sec

No problem and thanks. I just can't understand what's going on -- looks like a big TVP problem to me... just kidding. Try this; set your Flip Book to 2 or 3 seconds or even more, depending on how many frames you have in your timeline. You'll find this setting in the Preview Settings panel. Then RMB on the little flat hand icon at bottom left of the Preview window. Does the playback seem to run at the correct speed now?

But if it runs only with the Flip Book (BTW, you can drag the hand with LMB left and right too) and not with the regular start play arrow, then there still must be something wrong with your computer -- not enough power basically. This was just a test that there is nothing wrong with your installation of TVP. Under Preferences>Memory&Cache, what does your Physical Memory say and are you set on Automatic or Manual?
EDIT:Do you have your TEMP drive set to another HD than the one TVP itself runs on?
