Having some TVP issues

Post by Jesoped »

Hi TVP,

I recently upgraded to a new PC, and installed the 9.5.16. There seems to be a couple of glitches though.

When I use the click button function on my Intuos 3 Pen, I have a small amount of hits before I can't use them as the eraser. It works with a couple of strokes with the smoothing function off. But with the smoothing turned on (only in activate mode not with realtime turned on) it does not erase at all. And furthermore when I lay down an eraser stroke (using the click button) the eraser stroke isn't anti aliased. But using the erase function ( F4) everything is as it should be. I have just grown to like the uninterrupted flow of just using the pen buttons for erasing, and I sure hope someone has an answer. I know there was a ealier TVP version where you should set the double click function to Spacebar in order for it to work, but that has the same malfunction... Oh, and top top it all of, the whole click button eraser issue happened just a couple of days ago, after a month or so where everything was fine and Dandy so to speak. But I cant' figure out what I have done differently, if the situatiion is the case of butterfingers. Basically the pen buttons doesn't work the way that they should.

Also, I miss the ability to to rotate the canvas 15 degrees left and right in the animators panel... Am I missing something here? Can't seem to find it.

This one really puzzles me. Why isn't the Quicktime format implemented in the Export settings? All of my other version of TVP had it... Strange.

I hope my questions is somewhat clear, and that an answer(s) is just around the corner, so I can once again engage without having to workaround... Am I a goddam lazy bastard or what? ; )

And last but not least, I would like to thank the TVP team for making a freakin' awesome piece of software, leaving me speechless, melting myself away in absolute fluid creativity. Seriously, everyday I look forward to sit and draw/animate at my desk using TVP, with my new gorgeous ocean view at my disposal... Lucky me! : ) ... Paul Fierlinger you would love it, with a small harbor and accompanying beach just down the hill at our right - very nice. Arhh the scent and sound of the ocean, and watching the boats scattered around in glorious real life 3D stereoscopic high definition. ; ) Forgive me, but I just couldn't resist sharing my entusiasm.

Kind regards,
Jesper

I can't think of anything to fix your pen button problems and I've never come across anyone asking anything like this before, which might mean that this is not a TVP issue, particularly since the problem started up after a period of trouble free usage.

About the QT Export question I can only suggest you have another careful look at the Format menu. QUICKTIME is truly there, spelled out in capitals as I typed here. Are selecting Export to... in the File tab or Export Clip?

About your enviable view of the sea and marina as you work by your window, I always thought all island nation people have that view and that nothing but wild life lives inland. Are the little boats scattered about by storms or just poor navigation skills?

For no apparent reason, the pen issues just suddenly stopped and went back to how they where before... ??? So I most definitely agree that it must be some other glitch than a TVP bug. Curious to see if it goes back... Knock on wood.

I tell you Paul I have looked and looked, and I still can't see any QUICKTIME - tried Project and Clip... No Quickie. I know it should be there, but it ain't.

As for the view - well the only wildlife I ever encountered at land (except for the woods) was living close to the ZOO for 5 years, sure I sometimes could hear the wolves cry at night, but having the fear of meeting them in a dark forest at night would only be overcome by a rather large swoop into the pockets, unless there was a special price-off day ofcourse. ; ) damn, loved those penguins though, as did my daughter.

Experienced sailors, hobbyists and the ocassional high excited teengagers jumping of the pier when they are not supposed to, are some of the people living near by. And as far as I can see, most of the boats are showing some very calm and alert navigational skills. We lie close to the border to Sweden, so we can also the some tankers and ferries going by, one of the great things is that the scenary is never the same. And sometimes at night when the moon is out and shining down into the ocean, sitting outside on our porch only lit by a candlelight - looking out is simply ... Breathtaking. So inspirational environments has a whole larger meaning at the time for me... Makes me want to give it a stab at painting it... Maybe in TVP. ; )

So you have your Export Footage Panel opened and you click on the Clip Tab at the top and you see the menu of available formats, and it reads...
AVI
BMP
CINEON

etc

etc

PNG
PSD
and what comes next?

This is strange. Perhaps the next step would be to uninstall and reinstall the latest QT Pro.
