Format of DSLR images

Post by Michaela »

I am new to this program so forgive the question, but if I am taking a series of stills with my digital SLR what format should they be in, to best use TVPaint?
Thanks in advance!

Hi Michaela, welcome on the TVPaint Community.

If it's a camera and not a DV camcorder, forget it, you can't use it with TVP Animation.
If it's a DV camcorder, you have to use a firewire cable (IEEE 1394)

Kind regards,

hi Michaela,
if you mean your stills are already shooted, any image format available by your dslr as output format would be fine (Tiff, PNG, JPeg, ...)
except RAW, which isn't an input format supported by tvpa, afaik.
if you use the JPeg format, use it in its "best" (fine) mode when shooting, to prevent image degradation.
