Up until now I have been using only the Uncompressed codec (BGR24 and 32) to export AVIs from TVP. I just discovered the above link through my Vegas User Group where everyone has been praising it to high heavens, so I gave it a try in TVP. It renders faster, smoother and looks much better in Vegas, compared to my previous AVIs. I haven't been using this codec for too long but if anyone is interested in adding to your collection of codecs I recommend downloading this one now, since it is a free promotional and might not be available forever. It also shows up in the QuickTime Compression Settings and it works.

Paul,

In which folder should this be installed?

Hi Sven, I forgot where it went but I just let it go where it wanted to.

I replicated what I had done previously and it went to:
C:\ProgramFiles(x86)\GoPro\CineFormStudio\

Thanks Paul.

I tried it with several of my projects but no luck. I get a one kb file as output. A symptom of the problem is when I select other codecs in the Config/compression settings dialog box, there is a window where I see a preview frame from the project... but selecting the GoPro codec I don't. Perhaps it's mis-installed or I might be lacking some other file that lets the GoPro codec work.

Not to worry, I'll download the zip file again later and try reinstalling it when I have a little more time.

Sven

I hope you get it figured out because I'd like your feedback. I see absolutely no difference between the two when setup side by side. Even the thumb in QT looks the same to such a degree that when I toggle back and forth, the image never blinks. I've tested this another way; I blew up bothimages in Vegas and TVP to 150% so that they became pixilated and I could gage the difference pixel by pixel and matching colors. Again, I could scrub between the two images and it was as if I was scrubbing across the same image.
Yet when rendering the same project with both codecs, BGR24 Uncompressed shows 168 MB while Cineform comes out 34.4 MB. That's a huge difference! How is this possible?
