how to move a freehand selection?

How do I move a selection from one spot on the cel to another spot on the same cel? I make the selection with the Freehand Selection tool then click and drag it, but nothing happens. Is there a key command that I need to add in?
Thanks very much for your help,
Sharon

Which Freehand tool? Where is it located and what is its name when you hover the mouse over it?

Hi Paul,
Thanks for replying. The tool is called FreeHand Select. It's on the Main Panel.

On the Main Panel you have Free CutBrush (you click on it and use your pen to circle a drawing and cut it away to move about, or you have a panning button on which you click and touch any part of your frame to move whatever is drawn on it around. Both of these buttons come with a panel of their own which appears below. Make sure those settings are right for you. For instance, if you are using the panning tool make sure the Tool: Panning panel below has Move Image selected and not Move Selection Shape.

This is how I got it working but it seems a little cumbersome and might be a lot simpler to do:
I select the FreeHand Select tool, make a selection, switch to the Transform Tool - Panning. Shift and Move Selection Content is checked. I then move the Selection and both the selection and its content move but then the Selection Content bounces back to its original position. I then move the marching ants Selection over the content on the same spot again, and drag it again. Both move again as before but this time the content stays moved. Then I choose the FreeHand Select tool and deselect the selection by clicking elsewhere on the image.
Is there an easier way to do this?
Thanks,
Sharon

Try this: Select the Panning tool (by clicking on it) Make sure that below you see the word SHIFT and have MOVE IMAGE clicked on. Touch any part of your screen and drag the drawing wherever you need it to be. It should be that simple.

Thanks Paul. Yup, that works really well to move the whole image, but what I want to do is move just a small selected area like a nose over a bit to the right. How do I move just a small selection within the image and not the whole image?

Just cut anything out with the CutBrush tool (RMB to completely cut out and paste). If you haven't changed the pen's Wacom default setting, hold the bottom part of the rocker switch to cut out). It's strictly cut and paste. Someone around here made a nice set of buttons to cut, twist, flip and stretch. Search for the plugin CutBrush2.

Hi Paul,
The search words "plugin CutBrush2" or "CutBrush2" don't bring up anything other than this posting and a post of you asking someone if they received something like that which you sent them, but nothing on the forum as a download.
Do you still have it around? Would it be possible to re-post it?
Thanks,
Sharon

Sure -- someone else put that thing together though.
