Adding blank frame every "n" frames of a selection

Hi!

i was wondering if there is a fast way of

1.selecting some frames from a Layer
2.at the end of each frame add another Blank frame

(i usually work on my scene timing by adding instances but then in order to inbeetween i have to manually erase each of the instances)

So maybe a (Break Instances but make them blank) idea would help :)

thanks!

J.

I work in a similar way but don't see this as a problem. I just go where I need a new frame and hit "backspace". Ready to draw.

Hello!

hmm it is not really a problem
just trying to find a way to optimise the process :)

I remember being able to do this in an older version of TVP
but maybe i am wrong..

So which version of TVP are you on now? Do your individual frames have their own handles; one at the top for moving frames within a given timeline and one at the bottom to stretch the timeline to the need of the frame? Because if this is what you have, it seems to me that you can do whatever you want to setup your timing spaces between frames.

Slowtiger, I hear you say now for the second or third time that you can break into instances by punching your Backspace key. You must have your own assign of some sort to make that happen, or is this by default and I don't even remember that this is the Backspace key's natural command? So what is your key's assign command?
EDIT: Never mind -- the TVP default is Layer: clear' I just found it myself.

*ggg* Yeah, that's the problem when discussing shortcuts here: everybody and my aunt uses their own set of keyboard shortcuts. And I haven't even changed more than a dozen or so.

OK, what do I use? I've changed "right arrow" and "left arrow" to "next instance" because that's what I need most. "Shift-right arrow" advances one frame.
"1" and "2" give me "all pixels 1:1" and "fit content to window".
I've assigned some 3 of my brushes to keys.

But I still can't see how Layer:clear can work the way you describe because the only command I know of that will do this without erasing the head frame is Clear&Break, which you will have available to you only if you have the plugin "Instance Panel installed. So the only advice I know of for jbardokos is to install the Instance Panel first -- then lots of other goodies can be done besides clear & break.

I am using the latest version (9.5.2)

I ll try to adjust the pipeline and see how it goes
ill have to finish a complete scene from storyboard panel ->layout with some poses->rough animation(blue)->cleanup->inbetween to see what fits better
especially sine i am using a hybrid/rough/clean style...
I also have to do a lot of trial and error since i am doing this with help from another artist (as an assistant animator)
(to see what fits our needs and our way of working together and seperate)

thanks for the info ppl :)

btw

Elodie's link that gathers all content is sooooo helpfull
(i didnt have to dig at all for the instance panel) ;)

gonna check it rightaway :)

Your version is way old and riddled with bugs. Get the latest one -- it's free.

John,

Paul is right, as you are a registered user, you can download the updates 9.5.x (mostly bugfix + a few new features) for free, directly from the software (help menu).
