You most likely have your looping turned on. Look at the looping mode icon next to the sound icon at the bottom of your playback controls.

hi well the looping icon wasnt on... should master at the top of the layers window be checked?
i think checking it stopped the annoying playback - but I cant hear the track now...

When you have several tracks you can mute them individually but when you want to mute all of them at the once, you use the master track. If you have just one track you can use either one or the other to mute the sound. But I don't understand your problem with the looping. What do you mean by touching a frame with your cursor?

I think the sound file got corrupted?
as it appear to have a cut out look to it...
will reload and perhaps that will solve the problem

Have you seen this problem in master track? [Resolved]

I am a new user of TVpaint and I have reoccurring problem in the master track - ( see jpeg) it sounds awful ...
when the soundtrack was played in both Itoons Quicktime it sounded great. This track was recorded in a professional studio.
I am working on a PC that is off the web entirely... differnt clips were imported as wave files , as mp3's and as aiff...only one
of them was exported from quicktime- ( the last one) the rest were tracks that came directly from the studio or from itoons... every file
no matter what format or where it was converted ends up with this artifact in the master track...

The problem may come from audio codecs on your computer.
You should download Audacity and convert your sound file in wave PCM, to see if something change.
By the way, be sure you are using the 9.5.21 version of TVPaint ! =)
