Really excellent, we "lol'd" a lot here
I loved in particular the part about Shakespeare, it remembered me an episode of "Les deux minutes du peuple" by François Pérusse, about "l'Académie française". (in French, sorry)
Languages' evolution is very fascinating, whatever the language.
I remember I learned once that a "Flirt" (used in French) comes from "flirting", which comes from an old French expression "Compter-fleurette" (pronounce "count-ay-flore-ate" ) =)

Re: How the english language was developed
This film annoyed me because I can't stand narrators who consistently swallow the last words of sentences. It reminds me of people who turn away from you, looking around the room for more interesting people than you, while talking to you. I also found no sense in the accelerated speed of delivery except that it allowed the animator to cheat on the animation. I think it's a waste of a clever idea.
