Right now I'm using the Floodfill with gradient enabled to make gradients.
But this tool works in two steps
1) make a selection
2) apply the gradient.

I never use the first selection.
I use Preserve transparency or Stencils or selections to define the area I want to apply the gradient.
So this first selection step in the flood fill gradient is in a way blocking my work flow
so my question is.
Is there a selection tool in TVP where I don't have to make a selection first?

hmm : not sure to understand ... do you want to apply the gradient on the whole image ?

Yes exactly.
Because My selection is either made
by preserver transparency or stencils or selections.
so I dont need the first selection of the flood fill. So what I am asking is in a way that you could apply a gradient to the Line tool
but instead of draing the line it draws an gradien(straigt or sproracal etc) around that line.

You don't understand me quite.
I still have to do 2 actions. make selection . and then draw gradient

When using the flood fill I first click my image then a checked layer occurs to show the selection. then I have to drag I line to make the gtradient.
I don't need this first step because I always uses the entire image. So I would like a tool where I donøt have to make a select first(shown bu the checked area). but simply just drags a line.
Can you see this would give a better flow in using gradients not to make a selection firest?
Because my point is a have made my selection alreade. with stencils and preserve transparency.

in my exemple, I just click on the image to "activate" the gradient option on the whole image, then I draw the gradient vector.
there is no use of selection, but maybe this very first step is still too much ?

It is this first step I want to get rid of. that is what my topic is about. It is like every time I wanted to use the line tool for some reason I had to activate the area by clicking. that also would stop the work flow. that is just my point. I would like a gradient tool without this first "activate the area" step

ok, I see now, but I have not tweaking for that.
This is a feature request I think.

Ok I thought so, but I wanted to be sure before postinf a feature request

It now is. Maybe it could be implemented with an "Fill All " Check box or as an item in the fill drop down that simply disables the first selection step
