Toggle between Two Brushes

Post by Svengali »

In the new release TVP 10, there are a number of new shortcut key commands that I haven't seen discussed yet.

Here is one to try out if you like swapping often between the same two brushes when you draw... this shortcut command lets you toggle between the last two brushes used. In the Configure Keyboard Shortcuts window (Control K) pick a key and assign it the Tools Brush: Get Previous Tool command.

To use:
1. Select a brush.
2. Select another brush
3. Then just toggle between the two with the shortcut key you just setup.

Note that if you change the current brush in anyway, (colors, size, opacity or new brush) THAT becomes the brush you will be toggling back to from the last brush. But if you didn't mean to change to a new brush, you can always reselect the brush you were using in the Brush History matrix.

Also, if your drawing style includes using a lot of different brushes you should become familiar with the Brush History Matrix. It preserves all of the brushes you have used during the current session. Re-selecting a brush from the matrix doesn't re-add another copy of the brush... instead it simply moves it to the most recent square in the matrix (upper left slot).

Where is the Brush History Matrix? In the Main Panel, click the icon between the scull-crossbones and the paper icons.
