Panning Tool?

I was going through the MPC tutorial and it said this:

The « forest » layer was created with the Panning tool in the main panel (refer to lesson 7 for
further details). You may therefore duplicate it horizontally to avoid having to create too many
planes. To do this …

But I have looked all through lesson 7 and can find nothing about the panning tool. How do I use a tool to make seamless BG loops Horizontally? is it a panning tool? where is that located?

Panning tool: second row, 5th tool: the rectangle with the arrow cross inside (v9.5). If this is set to "warp" and "image", it will move the frame content in a way that parts going outside to the right will enter from the left.

So I just start drawing on one side and then move it to make sure it connects on the other?

That's the idea.

to make seamless (Hz-looping) layer, here's my process :
- for instance with a HD project (1920x1080), draw your BG layer, but not close around the left + right edges,
- use the Transform tool and enter "960"(= W/2) in the numeric field of the X parameter and "Apply",
so your left/right edges will be now centered in the milddle of your project,
- with your drawing tools, adjust (erase/draw) this edges junction area to assure your BG continuity,
- then, back to the Transform tool, hit the [Enter] key twice, et voilà ! (back to the original place).
