Remote panel doesn't remember position

I'm using the remote control panel quite often now cause I have a very long scene and I constantly set different in-out points. Therefore I have put this panel on my left side panel under all the tools. But every time I restart TVPaint it's not there - I need to open and put it again. Well, it's not such a big issue, but would be really nice if it worked, cause those couple of seconds really disconcentrate me :)

Hmm, I made a test with TVPaint 10 with Ubuntu and I don't have that problem. I will test tomorrow morning with a Mac and TVPaint 9 =)

It's usually a matter of setting the graphics card to the way you want certain popups to appear.

But I'm on a MacBook Pro with no settings for graphic card, and besides all other custom panels I'm using do remember their places...

That's a pity; I didn't know MACs have that limitation.

Well, that's not a limitation - there is just nothing to set-up – everything works perfect :) There are the Display settings and that's enough...
The issue here is in TVP, not in the graphics card settings, because all other panels remember positions.

I just tested this with TVP 10 on Linux, and I get the same behavior -- the remote panel doesn't stay docked between sessions like other docked panels. I have to reload it and place it. I don't normally use this panel, so never noticed it before, but it doesn't seem to want to stay in place after it's been docked. I tried on both left side and right side. I assume this is the issue you are having, Soom?

Exactly! Thanks for confirming!

Hmmm, that's weird, I don't have that problem with the latest version on Linux nor on the first version of TVPaint 10 on Mac, but I confirm it with TVPaint 10.02 to 10.04.

But anyway, I don't have that problem with TVPaint 9.5.21 on Mac Lion.

I did some more testing, here's what I found:

1. If you dock the remote panel and save your project, and later re-open TVPaint with the same project, the remote panel will be gone

2. If, however, you re-start TVPaint with an empty project, the remote panel will be there! If you save that project and then re-start, it will be gone if you open with that project.

3. If you start TVPaint with an empty project (with the remote panel docked), and then open your saved project, the remote panel will be there for you. You can then close the empty project.

(Tested on Ubuntu 64-bit 11.04 with TVpaint 10 Pro)

Remote Panel Disappears on opening TVPaint

When using TVPaint I select the Remote Panel and place it in my toolbar
When I close TVPaint and open it again, the Remote Panel is gone

How can I make the Remote Panel stay where I place it permanently?

Hello Lamarthehuman,

I joined your topic with that one, as this problem has been already discussed.

By the way, please mention your TVPaint version, its architecture, your OS etc...

Sorry for answering so late
Thanks for the workaround - well, it's not that crucial, but I will give it a try next time.
