PROBLEM: Video-In Frame Capture on Windows 7
Posted: 21 Feb 2012, 21:25
I have a student who is using an Agent V5 HD webcam with TVPaint 10 on Windows 7 64 bit .
According to the Agent V5 website the Agent V5 HD Webcam is supposed to have 64 bit drivers . He's installed the 64 bit drivers , but the controls for the camera are not working .
I believe the camera drivers are a program called AmCap, which is standard video capture for Windows , right ?
I can't help the student to troubleshoot this because I'm on a Mac and don't have a Windows machine .
Is this a problem because of running in 64 bit mode ? Should he run it in 32bit mode ?
The main control he wants to use for the camera is zoom, for framing. This is what he sees when he tries to adjust the settings:
He said that this screen cap is what he sees when he clicks on "Settings" button in the Video Input panel of TVPaint on Windows. (it looks completely different from what I see on the Mac version of TVPaint , so I have no idea what to tell him)
It appears that all settings are greyed-out except for "Exposure" . When he tries to put a check mark in the boxes to activate the other settings he can not check the boxes.
I don't know if this is really a TVPaint issue or more of an issue with the Agent V5 webcam and/or the AmCap drivers for Windows 7 64 bit . (?)
The reason I'm posting about it here is because I seem to remember reading here in the past that the TVPaint Dev Team has an Agent V5 webcam in the office and I was wondering if they had experienced any of the same issues with it and if it helps to run AmCap and/or TVPaint in 32 bit mode rather than in 64 bit mode ?
