but the pen needs a battery

EDIT: After having a closer look on their website I see that the 12x9 inch one has no buttons and none of them have a touch ring. It also seems that the pen isn't a two way rocker switch. There is no mention of having the capability of creating individual settings for a variety of software. But this is something I will be definitively recommending to students on a low budget.
