Now that the CalArts students are intensively using TVPaint Animation for their films, I think they deserve a specific topic :

Here is one from Tahnee Gehm :

and an other one from Kyler Spears :

by the way, I got this information from CalArts :
our Producers' Show will be happening Wednesday, May 9th in the Samuel Goldwyn Theater, in Beverly Hills.
So if you are interested, and close to this place, you should have some interesting stuff to see. :)

I'd be interested to find out more about which of these films used TVPaint as part of the production process.

One of the students, Tahnee Gehm , mentions her use of TVPaint on her blog, explaining her painting process for her film "Can We Be Happy Now?" -

"This is how I’ve tackled my film this year– completely in TVPaint! First, I’ll animate my roughs, using different colors for general cleanup. Then, I’ll make a silhouette on another layer, and using that as a stencil, create another layer with an overall gradient and a final layer with paint and eyes."

An other film from CalArts made with TVPaint :

This is my Cal Arts BFA1 Character Animation film! The animation is done on TV paint, and backgrounds are done on Photoshop then composite them on After Effect. Finally everything is edited with Final Cut and Pro Tools.
