preview

Post by painterX »

hello,
question about the preview. i see different between the tvpaint 8 version and tvpaint 10. tvpaint 10 has problems to show my animation, there is always a stutter if i move the time bar. i cant see my animation, that isnt normal. the programm tvpaint 8 didnt have this problem. everything is running smoothly, if i flip or play the animation .in the preview settings i have set the prewiew as realtime(no proxy). tvpaint 10 hasnt this option. maybe because of that it stutters. how can i set the preview as realtime?

TVPaint Animation 10 also allows you to configure this.

Go to Windows > Settings > Preview settings and uncheck the Proxy.
But IMO, this is the contrary : when the the Proxy is running, your animation will be read more fluently.

You may also Force the proxy, in order to be sure it will read correctly your animation, but each time you'll read, you will have to wait a little for the render.

You will find more options about the Preview settings panel into the user guide, lesson 4-14.

By the way, don't forget TVPaint 10 is a little more "greedy" than TVPaint 8. What is your computer (OS, CPU, RAM etc...) and what is your project's size ?

Unless I misunderstand you, TVP 10's Preview Settings panel has the same option, plus you can choose between Force Proxy Render and Background Proxy Render and even set the quality in percentage points of the playback.

Could you say more about it ? XP ? Vista ? Seven ? RAM, CPU...

But anyway, that's strange. Does the animation stutter only when the timeline is uncollapsed or does the animation stutter all the time ?

hmm, so that's weird.

We test here with a Seven 64 bits and no problems.

Are you using a recent demo version (10.0.6) ? If not, could you download a newest version from the website ?

The Preview settings panel has been improved 2 years ago. There are new functions and some names had changed.

I told you : uncheck Background Proxy Render in the Preview settings panel :)

Hmmm.... don't you have any way to film what's happening to you ?
Or maybe send screenshot of your interface.

We can't reproduce the bug on any computer (Mac, Windows, Linux) and nobody here already had such problem.
So I suppose something is wrong with your configuration or any device (are you using a tablet by the way ?).
