Transforming or Warping no longer makes a new frame

Post by swiftsketcher »

I just upgraded from TVP9 to 10, and I've noticed that using the transform tools on an image no longer automatically makes a new frame on the timeline like it did in TVP9. Is there a way to enable this again?

Go to the menu bar at the top and under image>Instances, look for Auto Create Instance and check it.

Hi, I just looked, and auto create instance is already checked, so is autobreak.

Then could you describe in some detail what you are trying to make happen? I used the panning button (moved the instance drawing in a new place of the timeline I wanted TVP to auto create a new frame and it worked.

It works for the panning button for me too, but not the transform or warp buttons.

Hmm. You still haven't explained what it is you do -- is it just that you place your cursor a few frames down the timeline and using warp distort the drawing but instead of seeing it warp the head drawing, it creates a new frame with the newly warped drawing?

Sorry, I'll be clearer: I have a drawing at the start of the timeline, I move the cursor down the timeline to transform or warp the drawing. I after I finish, I hit enter. This used to create a new key on the timeline with the changes I made (in TVP9), now in TVP10 it is only manipulating the original key at the start of the timeline. My problem is what you described, but it doesn't create a new frame with the changes, it changes the original frame at the start.

I just tried to replicate what you describe above in TVP 9.5 and it won't create a new frame there either. You'll have to wait for someone else to help you with this, most likely after the weekend.

ok, it sounds more or less a like a bug, probably due to the fact that the transform tools only apply on instance heads since the version 10.
