Hi guys,
I m new with the software and struggling. Anyone knows anything about automatic configuration. I must have done something wrong and now each time I try to work with a layer it goes into automatic configuration and turns all frames black. Help!

hi Anani
could you give a little more detail on what are you trying to do when everything turns black?
what do you mean with automatic configuration.
could it be that your background color is being set to none (layerpanel bottom left) thus turning the bg black and so hiding your black lines?

There is no 'automatic' configuration, or do you mean 'default' configuration? I don't know of anything in TVPaint that will automatically make the frame turn black, unless you are using floodfill or have some kind of background setting that is doing this.
Please provide a screenshot of what you are trying to do, along with the details of version you are using.

Hi guys and thank you for your replies.
Idragosani. I am using TVpaint 9 pro and I had a problem where some of my menus were appearing blank. I followed some instructions from the forum and re-configured the preferences. Then when I tried to work on my projects I found they were all saved in single images as opposed to tvp projects and some of them turnt black as if they were saved on no background, although they were not before . I am afraid to try it again in case of ruining more projects, to provide a screen shot.
Peter Wassink,
I checked the colour of the background and it is not set to none, so I don't know what has happened.
Any help would be appreciated,
Thank you
Ananimator

Maybe you can post a sample project that someone can take a look at.

Which version number of TVPaint 9 are you using ? Under the Help Menu -- select About TVPaint -- what version number ? TVPaint 9.5.3 or what number do you see ? The version number will also be in the opening screen at the top:
See how on mine it says TVPaint 9 Pro
(9.5.21 ) ?
9.5.21 was the most up-to-date version of TVPaint 9 . If yours is not 9.5.21 then update it now and see if that fixes the problem.
To update go to Help Menu -- "Check for Updates" .

Thank you D.T. Nethery
My version just says 9.5pro, so maybe it does need an update. How do I do that?

I guarantee you under the Help Menu if you select "About TVPaint" it will tell you what version it is . It should say 9.5.21. If it does not then you should update. (easy and free if you are a registered user)

Well, did you read what I wrote to you above ?
I wrote:

Simple as that if you have the activation codes as Elodie mentions in the post before this one.
