TVPaint Animation 10 on Windows 8 and Ubuntu 12.10

Hello everybody,
We are currently in tests phase on the new version of Windows (Windows 8 ) and Linux(Ubuntu 12.10), that came out recently.
We are studying the compatibility of our software on these new OS.
It may take some time, we come back to you when we will have more informations.

I was considering upgrading my vista laptop to win8
but since it obviously doesn't have a touchscreen i thought win 7 might actually be a better choice.

please let us know what your findings are and if there are indeed more/other disadvantages in win 8 compared with win 7.
because win8 has to cover so much ground (from phones to tabs to laptops to pc's ) i imagine there has to be a catch.

are there drawbacks in upgrading an older machine to win 8?
are there even advantages? ( i now one: setting up a network between a couple of machines must surely be a whole lot easier then it is now between my current vista and win 7 systems)

The software seems to run smoothly. But I didn't tried the sentinel drivers yet.

I've tried TVPaint Animation 10 on Ubuntu 12.10 and it recognize very well the Dongle.
The Sentinel Drivers works on Ubuntu 12.10.

We have a developer preview of Windows 8 : TVPaint and the sentinel drivers seems to start correctly on it. But we didn't test any plugins or codecs, so we will answer again in this topic when we will be sure if it really works or not. Stay tuned
